AMCS Awarded FEL Certification for FEL (front end loader) Weighing System

AMCS (Ireland) - AMCS FEL (front end loader) weighing system has been granted EU-type approval by NMO in accordance with measuring instruments regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016 No. 1153). This is a European wide approval which is based on VDH (vehicle data hub) and extensometer technology, within the waste and recycling industry.

The AMCS FEL technology, part of the AMCS Vehicle Technology solution, operates dynamically. This technology automatically determines the weight of the loaded bin during the lift process. The lift data is displayed in the on-board computer and transmitted in real-time to back-office software, such as the AMCS Enterprise Management solution.  For AMCS customers, this data provides valuable insights to be utilised when processing business information, such as, accurate container pricing and invoicing, customer profitability and revenue leakage analyses.

The AMCS FEL technology supports weights from 100Kg up to 2,000Kg, taking on average 2,000 weight samples both on the up weight and down weight. The extensometer technology is more accurate than traditional strain gauge technology due to its design and resolution. This combined with weighing algorithms delivers a consistent, accurate, accountable system to support industry dispatch and collection processes.

Speaking on the certification, Ken Tierney, Product Manager Vehicle Technology, AMCS Group, commented, “At AMCS we are delighted to offer our customers a fully certified FEL weighing system, in accordance with European standards.

The AMCS Vehicle Technology solution provides patented technology and utilises latest sensing technology to ensure the accuracy of every lift. The FEL scale has a fully configurable lift lifecycle that removes the count of false lifts caused by partial arm movements.

Additionally, the FEL technology can be remotely diagnosed and managed the need for service visits for our customers. Undoubtedly our FEL weighing system contributes to a greater efficiency in our customers logistic operations and supports the digitisation of their business”.
