Cardinal Scale (United States) - Purchasing/Buyer.
Summary/Objective:
The buyer compiles and maintains records of business transactions and office activities of the organization by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions:

- Printing and working the Material Requirement Reports.
- Purchase supplies, data entry, and compiles records/reports.
- Negotiates pricing and inventory requirements with vendors.
- Negotiating contracts with vendors and requesting non-disclosure contracts
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Contacts vendors for order status and discrepancies with quantity and quality.
- Works with Quality department on Discrepancy/Corrective Action (DCA)
- Interfaces with all departments and resolves problems and issues as necessary.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and authority
- Graphing, analysis, and tracking of top vendors
- Setting up and hosting new vendors for possible new opportunities
- Cross referencing vendor part numbers to Cardinal Scales
- Implementing and maintaining the 5-S system for a clean working environment
- Helps develop the company’s inventory tracking system
- Locating sources of supply for material in an assigned category.
- Interviewing of perspective suppliers, determining factors such as lead-time, price, discounts offered, and availability.
- Typing up debit memos, updating files, processing rejects and miscellaneous returns
- Expediting material shortage from vendor.
- Cooperation with all departments in buying the right material in the quantity and quality required.
- Acting as a liaison between individuals in the company and supplier representatives.
- Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Three years of experience in an office / printing environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
Associate degree in an applicable field, and / or three years of experience.
