Hardy's New HI6501 Weight Processor

Hardy Process Solutions (United States) - Press Release: Modernized with Faster Updates, Dual Ethernet Ports and Color Touchscreen Display

Hardy Process Solutions announced its new HI6501 series, a modernized weight processor featuring faster update rates, dual-port Ethernet, color touch-screen navigation, NTEP certification and conformance to the latest OVDA standards. Weight processors are used as front ends to control systems or operate stand alone for all types of general weighing applications. They measure, condition and communicate weight without any need to control.

“We designed the HI6501 as a modernized version of our best-selling HI6500,” said Tim Norman, Senior Product Manager. “In addition to increasing performance and adding industry-first features, we also made it smaller, with a color touchscreen that improves the user experience. With two Ethernet ports, it can simultaneously serve up and parse out data to both control systems and manufacturing Execution Systems, offering true IT/OT convergence.

The HI6501 includes EtherNet/IP® and free Add-On-Profiles & HMI Faceplates, for use with Rockwell Automation control systems, and are approved as a Technology Partner product. Units feature a big, bright color touchscreen display and deliver fast, high-resolution weight readings. There is also a simple check weighing mode that prominently displays under/overweight products.

Superior Performance:

The HI 6501 series deliver stable processed weight with a resolution of 1:10:000. Weight processors are used as front ends to control systems or operate standalone for all types of general weighing applications. They measure, condition and communicate weight without any need to control., with an update speed of 250 updates per second (processor, display and communications). These units enhance the productivity of process manufacturing systems where fast, precise weight-based controls are critical. EIP models offer many communication choices in addition to EtherNet/IP, including Ethernet TCP/IP and UDP and Modbus TCP. Also offered is an alternative 4-20mA analog configuration.

For maximum visibility and usability, the HI6501 series features a 4.3" color touchscreen display. Each instrument consumes just four watts saving energy costs while driving up to 8 load points and two junction boxes.  The compact panel mount configuration is only 0.75 inches deep and resides in a sturdy metal case that sits flush against the cabinet, with the 0.5 inch deep display residing outside the cabinet.

Ease of Set-Up & Calibration:

A set-up wizard guides users through installation and calibration, or an embedded web server allows set-up from anywhere on a user’s network. Front panel keys and menus enable quick, easy setup with help text. Hardy's exclusive C2® automatic system calibration saves hours of start-up and maintenance time. An Add-On-Profile makes PLC setup fast and easy, while HMI Faceplates/AOIs make it easy to use without programming.

Vibration Immunity:

Hardy’s WAVERSAVER® and WAVERSAVER+ technology suppresses vibration and mechanical noise, dramatically reducing scale settling time and increasing the speed of stable gross and net weight readings.
