(United States) - Press Release: Designed as a direct replacement for Wallace & Tiernan 32-055 volumetric feeders, the new Scaletron VMF-90WT is an automatic, fully-featured volumetric feeding system for adding dry powders in water, wastewater and chemical processing applications.

The VMF-90WT feeder system is comprised of a screw feeder, hopper with W&T adaptor, SCR motor control module, wetting cone with eductor or solution mixing tank with mixer and a base stand.

Accurate to within 1% of volume, the system accurately dispenses aluminum sulfate (alum), calcium hydroxide (hydrated lime), carbon, magnesium hydroxide, polymers, potassium, soda ash, and other dry powders or pelletized materials used in the water and waste water industries as well as a host of other industrial chemicals.

The VMF-90WT features a rugged, corrosion resistant 304 or 316 stainless steel hopper and frame supported by a dry powder epoxy coated base stand. The stainless steel hopper offers a capacity of 1.5 cubic feet. The hopper includes an adapter flange that matches Wallace & Tiernan’s Model 32-055 Volumetric Feeder for seamless integration with an existing system. A 304 or 316 stainless steel solid auger (0.50″, 0.75″, 1.0″, 1.5″, 2.5″ or 3.75″ diameter) with bayonet style connection provides feed rates from 0.07 up to 60 cubic feet per hour. The 90 VDC motor is right-angle geared wash down ready. A variable speed SCR motor controller is housed in a water and dust proof NEMA 4X enclosure.

To accommodate existing feeder installations, the unit is available with a high volume wetting cone and eductor or a 35, 50, or 75 gallon solution mixing tank with mixer motor and propeller. Additional options for the VMF-90WT volumetric feeder include and an integrated “Loss in Weight” measurement system with four load cells and a digital scale controller.
