seca management team restructured and Thomas Müllerschön brought on board as CEO Finance & Performance

Seca (Germany) - Press Release: seca welcomes Thomas Müllerschön as new CEO Finance & Performance. The 52-year-old was already a long-standing member of the advisory board and now takes on the role of the third CEO alongside the brothers, Frederik and Robert Vogel, who are the fourth generation to run the family business. With Müllerschön’s expertise, the world market leader for medical measurement systems and innovative software solutions strengthens its position as an innovation driver and is gearing up strongly for further growth. On 01/02/2021, Thomas Müllerschön thus takes over the position of Thomas Wessels, who is now devoting himself to new professional challenges after 15 years of management at seca.

“With Thomas Müllerschön, we have gained a top manager who, as a member of the advisory board at seca, has strategically accompanied our transformation from a mere manufacturer of scales to an agile system provider”, said Robert Vogel, CEO Sales & Marketing. “He knows the opportunities, challenges and the special spirit at seca and can fully contribute his expertise from day one. We are convinced that with him we have the right partner at our side to take the next step in the course of our international growth strategy.”

Thomas Müllerschön, among other things, spent 16 years shaping the success of Uzin Utz AG: in his role as a board member and later as chairman of the board, he used his proven financial expertise and modern management style to lead the family business from a regional manufacturer of adhesives and fillers to a listed global market leader for all flooring activities. Through his many years of service as a member of the seca advisory board, Müllerschön has also been closely associated with the company for 12 years: “I have been able to experience the development of seca in person over the last few years and have got to know many colleagues. The professionalism, passion and strategic vision with which work is done here are very special. I look forward to continuing this success story together and am convinced that together we will take seca to the next level.”

Frederik Vogel, CEO Development & Manufacturing: “As a system provider, our product portfolio around medical measurement systems, software, integration and service solutions is becoming increasingly complex, business models are changing and we are operating with a whole new dynamic on the market. To maintain our role as an innovation leader and to continue to grow, we need not only our agile research and development, strong sales and creative marketing, but also a financial architecture to match. With Thomas Müllerschön, we have gained an expert with whom we will expand and strengthen our role as a first mover in the future.”

Mr. Thomas Wessels, who helped shape the growth and success as CEO Finance & Performance for 15 years, is leaving the company under the best amicable mutual agreement and will remain on friendly terms with seca. Robert and Frederik Vogel: “We hold Thomas Wessels in high esteem as a business partner and person and thank him for the professional cooperation over the past years. We wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
