The Field Service Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day management of assigned direct reports and coordinates and meet quality standards, growth and cost objectives. Assigned team members which may include one or more of the following: Technical Support Representative, Applications Specialist, Field Service and Scheduling Specialist.

Essential functions:

  • Provides oversight of day to day operations for team members in assigned group in support of field service and in-house projects.
  • Accepts field assignments as necessary, includes installs, troubleshooting and integration.
  • Implements, monitors and reports on service KPIs and processes.
  • Conducts regular team meetings to facilitate effective communication of group and department objectives.
  • Ensures assigned team members and authorized service partners receive appropriate training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.
  • Fosters an environment of open communication with other department managers and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate information sharing as well as coordination of resources on Hardy-wide projects.
  • Conducts performance reviews for assigned team members. Partners with company leadership and/or HR to address performance issues and/or concerns in a timely manner. 
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current Hardy equipment, software and methodology to provide support to customers and sales channel ; ensures team members do the same.
  • Oversees all field service activities for company and authorized partners , including start-up, troubleshooting work, and risk mitigation. 
  • Works with customers to effectively handle and resolve application issues, complaints and concerns to ensure customers technical needs are met.
  • Develops and implements internal and external technical training, and internal cross-training and succession planning programs.
  • Collaborates with the sales team and/or other functional areas to respond to requests for proposal (RFP), requests for information (RFI) and/or the completion of special projects.
  • Works with leadership to develop an annual budget and revenue growth strategy (e.g calibration/maintenance contracts; integration services; training programs etc). Manages budget and implements strategy initiatives through technical support team. 
  • Attends Hardy and other training courses as required, to meet company and industry certification requirements.
  • Ensures that all Quality Assurance requirements are adhered to.
  • Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Creates and promote a positive work environment and respond to change productively.
  • Manages special projects as assigned.

Primary qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Previous experience in developing and presenting technical training programs.
  • Experience with HMIs, Allen Bradley PLC and Industrial Networking technologies is a must. Experience with RS Logix a plus, RS Logix programming is a big plus.
  • Excellent ability to communicate at all levels of an organization in a multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated abilities in cognitive analysis and problem-solving.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to see projects through to successful conclusion.
  • Effective project manager, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and employees.
  • Proficient with PC-based tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

Education Minimum Requirements/Equivalent:

  • Associates or Technical degree and/or equivalent experience. Bachelor Degree highly preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Senior Technician or equivalent in industrial weighing.
  • Minimum of 3 year of leadership or supervisory experience.

Other requirements:

  • Work in factories and manufacturing plants that permit exposure to permissible levels of dust and airborne particulates.
  • As necessary, wear personal protective equipment when required by customer/plant
  • Work various shifts; day, swing as needed
  • Travel for continuous periods of up to 7 days or more
  • On-call status as required to support Hardy customer needs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling activities.
  • Frequent reaching/working overhead and climbing stairs
  • Occasional opportunities for climbing ladders
  • Opportunities to push, pull as well as carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires fine manipulation on a nearly continuous basis.
