Kice Industries (United States) - Manages and supervises all assigned personnel and oversees all activity within the Shipping department to ensure processes and procedures are sufficient to meet deadlines while focusing on safety and quality. Identifies inefficiencies and recommends improvements to processes and procedures.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides supervision, training and support for shipping employees.
  • Prioritizes and communicates daily and weekly shipping schedules to employees.
  • Timely procures the necessary materials and equipment to meet daily requirements in an organized fashion.
  • Communicates shipping/delivery dates with customers and/or management team.
  • Negotiates best rates with carriers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that shipping processes/procedures are running smoothly, effectively, and on-time according to shop schedule.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety guidelines, specifications, and safe work practices, and company policies.
  • Reviews all consumables and evaluates usages and conducts monthly departmental budget reviews.
  • Ensures shipping employees correctly and efficiently utilize the Kice Epicor computer/program system when clocking into and out of jobs and retrieving drawings and job travelers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 4 years previous experience as a Shipping Manager required.
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments on time.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and meet other physical requirements needed for the position.
  • Must be proficient and have extensive computer and software knowledge; ERP/MRP and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
