Cooperativa Bilanciai (Italy) - Weighing of high temperature bars in a steel plant.

Our solution:

In the heavy iron industry with its particular weighing conditions at temperatures around 400°C, specific systems were required to weigh large bars.

The overall system required the use of two independent structures: one suitable to support any overloads and/or accidental impact, and one complete with weighing system.

A first structure allows placing the product on the weighing system for weight measurement. The handling system is driven by the operator and is composed of special pneumatic mechanisms.

The products are weighed in proximity of where they come out of the rolling process; the bar is picked up by a magnet and, still hot, is deposited on the structure.

For this application specific heat dispersers have been used to protect the load cells.

That way, the quantity of product weighed is acquired immediately after processing and the data sent to the corporate management system.

The electronic terminal is integrated in a console adjacent to the weighing system and includes all the essential controls to activate the weight handling and data acquisition operations.
